Quote of the Day
It's fascinating to think that all around us there's an invisible world we can't even see. I'm speaking, of course, of the World of the Invisible Scary Skeletons.

The pictures you uploaded so far look pretty cool! Can we see anymore code? From the screenshot it looks like you only print changes left or right.. So is this just a debug routine? looks like its just informative. :-)

I wish you the best of luck in Austin!! Hope you kick some robot ass!!

I have some ideas on how to improve our water roket for next year!!

It's Monday morning in Austin, just a few degrees cooler than Hell. We spent yesterday in San Antonio and visited the Alamo and took a boat ride along the river as well as the river walk. Very beautiful city. Tomorrow is the compitition and the boys are gearing up. I'll be posting pictures when I get back. More to come...

Today is the day. The boys arrived at the convention center this morning at 10 and the seeding rounds begin at 1:30. They will have 3 rounds in which they go unapposed to gain points for the head to head rounds tomorrow. They feel confident that they will do well and now its up to the robots to perform. Just getting here was an accomplishment in itself. Stay tuned in for further updates and I will be posting s this weekend when I get home. Wish them all luck!!

The seeding rounds are over and Independence is now placed 20th out of 42 teams. Because they finished in the top half they are given a first round bye in the double eliminations. The compitition is very strong and it will be a tough task but they are very confident in their work. If you can get to a computer you can view the matches starting at 1:30pm et at www.robotics.nasa.gov We have been having a great time here and will fill you in on the details along with pictures when I return. Wish them luck and GO INDEPENDENCE!!

I've been watching via realvideo but the connection really sucks, I think its there end too since I'm connecting from work on a very low traffic T1. Anyway.. Looking for Team Independance!! I find it kind of funny that the announcer has corrected himself several times for saying fight, death, etc.. and replaced them with Politically correct equivalants.. :-)

But pretty cool! I have a much better idea of how its supposed to work!! Alot of variables to deal with!

Team Independence sure did their best and in the end they had a 4-2 record in the double elimination round. They finished 7th out of 41 teams in points for the head to head portion and 14th overall. Some of it comes down to luck but they can be very proud of their work and are looking forward to next year. I can't begin to describe how proud we all are but I hope they know. Keep an eye out for pictures on Friday. Till then, thanks to everyone for your support.

GO TEAM INDEPENDENCE! That's amazing! Congratulations guys!

I'm thinking that next you should look at combining projects: Water rockets and BotBall. That way you've got a Mobile SAM system...

Congratulations to Geoff and Team Independence!!! Well Done!!! We are ALL very proud of how the team did. I just hope that some day these events can be viewed on television. Thought about you a lot and wished I could have viewed the activities. Oh, well. I expect Gil to prepare, not only pictures which I cannot upload at this time, but a play-by-play of the events. Again, good job!!
