Quote of the Day
It's fascinating to think that all around us there's an invisible world we can't even see. I'm speaking, of course, of the World of the Invisible Scary Skeletons.

So Red Hat is trying some new ideas... and one of them is a project called Mug Shot. The idea is to link together lots of different applications you use online. Probably easiest way to explain is to give an example:

I like some music on Creative Commons. My Friend Matt might have a song that he got through iTunes, and Rob might have the same song but he bought it through Yahoo music. These services normally don't work together nor do they really want to. They want to tie you into their service not make it easy to work with others. Well, Mugshot allows Matt to share the song he is lisetning to with Rob who can get the same song via Yahoo music.

Its an abstraction layer from all these web service providers. It also glues non web applications together.

I think its exciting anyway. :-)

The above really doesn't do it justice.. There is more than just music sharing, which is called Music radar. You really just have to try the service out.
